Privacy Statement

The terms “I” and “my” refer to Emma Bell Coaching and Emma Bell as a qualified coach.

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is very clear about collection and use of personal data.  There must be a valid reason for collecting and/or using personal data. I will collect your personal data for the purpose of fulfilling a coaching contract with you (ICO lawful basis: contract).

This includes appropriate and proportionate safeguarding duties of yourself or another person, where it is deemed there is or may be risk of harm (ICO lawful basis: legitimate interest). In pursuit of safeguarding an individual, your personal data may be shared with a third party such as your GP, the police and/or an emergency mental health support provider.  I will not share your personal data with any other third parties.

Name – to be able to identify who I am entering into a working agreement with

Contact details (email address, telephone number) – to communicate with you about our coaching sessions

Date of birth – to provide identifiable information alongside your name in pursuit of safeguarding duties

Current GP – to be able to contact a source of support in pursuit of safeguarding duties

Postcode – my work involves being outdoors and in order to suggest suitable locations I will need to know where you are based

Existing medication, known medical conditions, emergency contact – my work involves being outdoors and I therefore need to be aware of anything that could reasonably harm your health and who you would want me to contact in an emergency

Reason for coaching, past or relevant current support – to determine if my service is the most appropriate for your needs

Accessibility considerations – my work involves being outdoors and in order to suggest suitable locations I will need to know if there is anything that would be a barrier to you getting full use of sessions

Your personal data will be collected by email and in conversation via Google video conferencing (initial “chemistry” call)

Your personal data will be stored in my Google Drive.  Your contact details will be stored in my email address book and business mobile for the duration of your coaching sessions

For the purpose of my own development as a coach and to reflect on my work with you, I will take brief notes after our sessions.  These may be handwritten or created electronically.  Where handwritten notes are created, these will be transferred to electronic copy and the paper version securely destroyed.  Notes will not contain your full name.  These notes will be kept for a period of seven years.
